WSP Stop Data Analysis

Summary

The Division of Governmental Studies and Services (DGSS) at Washington State University, as the most recent example of its long research collaboration with the Washington State Patrol, is currently engaged in a project designed to assess elements of WSP trooper interactions with Washington drivers. In the spring of 2020 DGSS was contacted by the Washington State Patrol and subsequently contracted to conduct a study of five years of WSP traffic stop data records, including data from 2015 through 2019. A contract for the data analysis was executed in September of 2020.

A report on the findings of the data analysis has been released to WSP, and posted online.
