The Law Enforcement Mountain Operations School provides law enforcement officers with the basic knowledge and skills to safely perform routine operations in wilderness settings by focusing on preventing mishaps, maintaining a state of heightened awareness, and promoting a professional attitude in themselves and others while overcoming environmental and tactical challenges.
WSU – Extension Disaster Capacity Program (EDCP) is a collaborative network designed to provide an integrated variety of resources to support disaster preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery for Extension personnel across Washington State. WSU – EDCP provides Extension Educators with information and links to resources on all phases of disaster from an all-hazards perspective.
The Washington State Institute for Criminal Justice (WSICJ) provides research assistance and expertise to improve the policies and practices of the state and national criminal justice system. With a focus on applied problem solving research, the Institute aims to improve criminal justice efficiency and effectiveness through the identification, assessment, and evaluation of promising and evidence-based interventions and practices. The scope of the Institute is comprised of two divisions – Policing & Security and Corrections & Sentencing – which encompasses the wide array of research knowledge and expertise among its directors, faculty, staff, and affiliated members and partners.
