As the Emergency Management Coordinator since 2015, Sarah is responsible for establishing procedures for developing and updating organization plans, and coordinating emergency preparedness and training programs for the Pullman campus. She is also responsible for working with campus leadership to enhance WSU’s capacity to respond to and recover from all hazards.

Prior to joining WSU’s Office of Emergency Management, Sarah was an AmeriCorps VISTA member with the American Red Cross. She provided disaster preparedness education in communities throughout North Texas while recruiting and managing local volunteers to perform outreach activities throughout the territory. She was also part of the inaugural class of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Corps, a collaboration between AmeriCorps and FEMA, and deployed to a number of federally declared disasters including Superstorm Sandy. She was a qualified Individual Applicant Services Specialist, helping survivors apply for FEMA assistance.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband traveling and exploring the Pacific Northwest. She enjoys hiking, cooking, and watching Coug games.
