Our Mission
(What is "digital inclusion”?)
DGSS’s digital inclusion projects empower people, organizations and businesses to apply information technology in ways that result in greater participation in our growing knowledge-based society. We do our work through partnerships that provide training, applied research and assist in policy development that expands access to critical information technologies and applications. Our efforts built upon the foundational work of the Center to Bridge the Digital Divide (what happened to the CBDD?).
How We Are Organized
Digital inclusion projects are organized in three thematic arenas:
- Digital inclusion for economic prosperity
- Telework
- Digital inclusion for social & civic participation
Projects are undertaken by interdisciplinary teams led by highly experienced DGSS staff. We accomplish the majority of our work through contracts and grants, developed in collaboration with project partners. As part of WSU we have the capacity to partner with faculty, research centers and outreach organizations across our state-wide system.
How You Can Help
The future success of DI depends on our ability to attract investment, engage in high impact projects, and build partnerships among a broad constituency. DI needs and values contributions of time, money and energy from all whom share our goals. Join us in building the bridge to a digitally inclusive future for everyone. We need your help.
We look forward to exploring ideas with you regarding possibilities for collaborating in applied research, training or consulting. Contact us.
