Data analysis

DGSS provides objective analysis of data which has been collected by public agencies and through applied research studies conducted by DGSS. Using data processing software and drawing on years of experience, DGSS is able to produce accurate and insightful results.

Organizational assessment

Through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and the use of historical data DGSS provides assessments of the functionality of client organizations. Examples of assessment topics include, but are not limited to, employee job satisfaction, interpersonal communication, workplace safety, problem solving, and professional ethics.

Appreciative inquiry

DGSS works with client organizations to build on their strengths through a process known as appreciative inquiry (AI). "The basic idea [of appreciative inquiry] is to build organizations around what works, rather than trying to fix what doesn't." (Wiki, 2007) Appreciative inquiry uses the "4 D's" - Discover, Dream, Design, and Delivery - to create a vision and plan for the future. This method is more likely to inspire employees than traditional methods based on correcting mistakes. DGSS has four staff members who have considerable field experience with AI in diverse settings.
